About this school

Sela Public Charter School, the District's only Hebrew Immersion school, is accepting students in all grades: PreK3, PreK4, K, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. We focus on Hebrew immersion while teaching students using our five pillars: global citizenship, academic excellence, innovation, diversity and trustworthiness. Located in Ward 4, we teach students from all 8 wards of Washington, DC.

Points of Pride

• We are a Blue Ribbon School (US Department of Education), a Tier 1 school (Public Charter School Board), and for the last 3 years, the parent-voted Best Elementary School in DC (City Paper).
• We immerse our students in Modern Hebrew beginning in PreK3, and each classroom has two teachers throughout the day: an English teacher and a Hebrew teacher.
• We are a diverse-by-design school and boast one of the highest levels of racial and socioeconomic diversity in DC.
